We have received the following notice from BoB (Box of Broadcasts) providers regarding current access issues.
“We are currently experiencing an issue with our network at our data center affecting access to Learning on Screen services. We have received notification from JANET that they are working to restore all connections affected (Leeds and Slough) by an update to their firewalls. We will update you when this has been resolved.

Please be aware that on Thursday 7th March, BoB is undergoing essential system maintenance and will be unavailable between 9.30am – 11.30am.

We have been informed that there is currently access/usage issues with Lynda.com.
We are liaising with the provider and relevant support teams to investigate the problem and correct it as soon as possible.

Emerald Insight will be undergoing maintenance on Tuesday 5th February, beginning at 8am and lasting for up to 12 hours.
During this time the site will be placed into ‘read-only’ mode, making the following functionality unavailable for the duration of the maintenance:
- Adding publications as favourites
- Alert subscriptions
- Any changes to ‘My Account’/’Institutional Account’
Should you access the website during this time, you will receive a notification that the site functionality is temporarily unavailable within your browser.
The suppliers have informed us of scheduled maintenance downtime to occur on Sunday 20th January. Starting at 3am to 11am, lasting approximately 8 hours.

The Library Systems Team will be carry out planned maintenance work on Wednesday 19th December.
It is anticipated that there may be a short disruption to online resource access for some users.
The work will begin at 10:30am and there may be a disruption of up to 5 minutes.
Computing & Library Services will be updating the University’s network firewalls on Monday 17th December 2018 between 18:00 and 24:00.
During this time there will be no Internet access available on campus. Websites or services that reside at the University will be not be externally available.
If possible service will be restored before 24:00.
Internet access via Wi-Fi will be available through WiFi_Guest, but not via Uni_WiFi or Eduroam.
Whilst the above work is taking place, access to the library’s resources will be affected, including:
- library web pages
- library account
- authentication to e-resources
- reading lists
We apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused by this essential work.
As part of planned server maintenance by the Library Systems Team on Saturday 15th December 2018, it is likely there will be short periods of disruption to the following services:
- Reading List software
- Library Room Booking
